Ken Trotman pre-booked rooms at La Quinta Inn under Bicycle Club of Irvine, folio #305684, phone #805-239-3004. They held the rooms until 9-12-16 for you to call in & confirm on your own credit. They may still be available if you call. We had a 20 room block: 12 double queens and 8 kings with a pull-out sleeper couch. Full hot breakfast is included in the rate. $105 on Thursday and $175 each on Friday and Saturday. People can certainly stay in other locations, or stay for fewer nights, but we'll start the rides from there.
Arrive Thursday afternoon to check into the hotel. Dinner on your own.
Friday morning rides: One about 40 miles, another 45-50 miles (same general route -- just some extensions).
Friday afternoon: Can arrange for olive oil tasting or see about doing a BBQ at one of the wineries. If we do the olive oil tasting then we'll find a place to have dinner that evening (maybe at San Antonio winery across the street). Typically these dinners will run about $30.
Saturday morning rides: We'll have two choices-- a shorter ride (~40 miles) that will take us for a stop at the Templeton Farmer's Market or a longer more challenging ride with climbs.
Saturday late afternoon: Halloween Costume party at local home - requires a costume of some sort; let's have fun! - horseshoes, bocce, beer/wine and dinner. An additional cost will be figured out by mid October...
Sunday morning: shorter ride so folks can get back, cleaned up and checked out of their hotel (we'll see about arranging late check-out). If anyone wants a longer ride, we can provide cue sheets so they can do that on their own.
