Beat the summer heat and experience a new side of bicycling!  Join fellow club members for a Full Moon Fun Ride.  This is a no-drop ride at an easy pace. Meet at Deerfield park at 6:30pm and expect to roll out about 6:45.  We’ll watch the sun set as we ride the San Diego Creek and Back Bay trails to Starbuck’s on PCH.  We’ll return under the full moon by the same route.  Come and enjoy the unique sights, sound, and smells of the Back Bay at night.

The ride will be led by BCI club secretary Bob McHenry, an experienced commuter and tour leader.  Headlights and taillights are required to participate.  Eye protection with clear lenses is strongly recommended.  Moon rise is at 6:39pm and sunset is at 8:02.  Ride distance is 23 miles and we should return around 9:00pm.

If you want to learn more about lighting and night riding prior to the ride, plan on attending the general membership meeting on Wednesday June 12th, where Bob will give a presentation on options for bicycle lighting.  Questions about this ride:  bring them to the 6/12 meeting, or email to secretary@bikeirvine.org.

Lights & reflectors are legally required - more are recommended including tail light & HiViz reflective vest or jacket…

If you did one of these 2 rides on December 25th, come back & try another option this week!

Many of the members enjoy lunch together after the ride at the nearby center at Culver & Michelson.

Christmas Ride - #13 Tuesday Ride

Ride Start: University Park
Please park on streets & leave the parking lots for others.
The holiday falls on our regular Tuesday Ride schedule so join BCI's Tuesday group!

The group start is usually at 9:15, but riders who have to fight freeway traffic to get to Irvine will still find the sign in sheets and cue slips available after the 'pack' has gone.

Each Tuesday ride has a coffee stop regroup. This week we land at the Starbucks in Los Olivos center.

Many of the members enjoy lunch together after the ride at the nearby center at Culver & Michelson.

Regular Tuesday Route #13:

NewB Class

For adults - but re-experience the joy!

For adults - but re-experience the joy!

Our “NewB” rides are geared for new riders, riders with some experience, and riders who have never ridden in a club atmosphere. We will do a modified version of the scheduled Saturday short ride, (check bikeirvine.org for Saturday Ride schedule) adding as much off-street bike path as available...
We meet at the picnic tables at DCP

No registration & FREE – but do email Bill@BikeIrvine.org so he has an idea of how many are coming! BCI Members who are willing to coach & role model good bicycle driving are welcome to help out… Cycle of Safety members are especially welcome!
