Welcome

Welcome to the BCI's Website. The Bicycle Club of Irvine is a recreational and social cycling club for men and women of all ages and skill levels. We have been an active club for over thirty years, and our members are all ages, shapes and sizes. Our main goals are to have fun and make new friends along the way. You do not have to become a member before riding with us. Just come and see if the club is a good fit for you, and you can then become a member if you feel a connection. We are a very social club and think you will enjoy the friendliness and opportunity to spend time with new-made friends. If you do choose to ride with us we do recommend that you follow a few common sense guidelines
  • Wear you helmet.
  • Insure your bicycle is road worthy.
  • Leave the ear buds at home.
  • Obey ALL traffic laws.
  • Have fun.
We look forward to seeing you at Deerfield Park on Irvine Center Rd between Yale and Culver. Check out our ride schedule and please join us.

Sat Jun 20, 2015 All Day - Summer Solstice Remote Ride

Summer Solstice Overnight 2 day remote ride. Registrations are open for the Summer Solstice XXV on June 20/21 - see sellin.com/solstice/XXV

Sat Jun 27, 2015 8:00 AM - Palos Verdes Remote Ride

We are riding with the the Beach Cities Cycling Club who know Palos Verdes. Great views! Something different!!
The start and end point for our ride is:
Catalina Coffee Company
126 N Catalina Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Plan on using the free parking available on the side streets (Garnet, Emerald, Broadway). The dedicated coffee shop parking will be very limited and it's really only for a two hour max.

The *tentative* route is this one: BCCC - Palos Verdes Scenic 2B ride + Oddball
43.6 mi, +3120 ft. Starts in Redondo Beach, CA
Location: Catalina Coffee Company
126 N Catalina Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Sat Aug 01, 2015 9:00 AM - Tour de Five Cities Remote Ride

One of our most popular remote rides. For those of you who haven't done this ride before, it is a 39 miler with a few small hills that I call 'Tour De 5 Cities', because it winds through Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Capo Beach, and San Clemente. The best part is the breakfaststop at the Dana Point Marina. The ride leaves from Ocean Ranch Shopping Center, next to Trader Joe's at Camino Del Avion and Golden Lantern. There's a shorter yellow ride 33 mile option also if 39 miles is a bit long for you. So mark your calendars for this totally enjoyable ride.

Before /After Eating options: Coffee shop, Z Pizza, Quiznos, Panda Express, and others, all available in the shopping center.
Route Slip:Click (Note: Click on ride designator (e.g. Tour de Five Cities Remote) at top of route slip for formatting options)
Location: I-5, or 405 South to Crown Valley Pkwy exit. Right - Crown Valley Pkwy, 1.7 miles Left - Moulton / Golden Lantern, 4.1 miles Right - Via Ladera, into Ocean Ranch parking area. Park to the right of Trader Joe's and near to Wells Fargo bank.

Newbie Ride: Orientation class begins at 8:00 a.m. The ride begins after 9:00 a.m. and returns around noon. Helmets are strongly recommended and should be worn by all. See the flyer for more details or the New to Riding Page for more details.

Sun Sep 27, 2015 7 days - Biking Tour of Spokane Washington

What makes Spokane, WA the ideal location for our 2015 cycling, hiking and fun adventure?

Here's what Visit Spokane has to say, "A vibrant city, a roaring river, a gateway to the American west. Since its first days as a rail hub, Spokane has stood as a destination city immersed in natural beauty. Book a whitewater adventure, bike the beautiful Centennial Trail or hike through countless nature preserves. But it's not just about the outdoors! Taste Washington's renowned grapes and hops at any number of local wineries and craft breweries."

As a fellow cyclist, here's what I think will impress you... Spokane's natural beauty and the broad valley where it resides. The many dedicated bicycle and hiking trails adjacent to the hotel. A 2-state bicycle tour which includes beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho as one of our many destinations. Enough after-ride activities to make you do a happy dance. Plus, you can buy this terrific jersey to remember the trip by.

Follow the link below for more information.

We'd love to have you and your friends join us on this outstanding 7 day bicycling adventure funding the good works being done by Big Brothers Big Sisters OC.
