Welcome to the BCI's Website. The Bicycle Club of Irvine is a recreational and social cycling club for men and women of all ages and skill levels. We have been an active club for over thirty years, and our members are all ages, shapes and sizes. Our main goals are to have fun and make new friends along the way. You do not have to become a member before riding with us. Just come and see if the club is a good fit for you, and you can then become a member if you feel a connection. We are a very social club and think you will enjoy the friendliness and opportunity to spend time with new-made friends. If you do choose to ride with us we do recommend that you follow a few common sense guidelines
  • Wear you helmet.
  • Insure your bicycle is road worthy.
  • Leave the ear buds at home.
  • Obey ALL traffic laws.
  • Have fun.
We look forward to seeing you at Deerfield Park on Irvine Center Rd between Yale and Culver. Check out our ride schedule and please join us.

Sat Jul 18, 2015 8:00-9:00 AM - Bike Rally special

We are hoping you and your club will join BCI for our annual Orange County Bike Rally Saturday, July 18 at Deerfield Park, 55 West Deerfield, Irvine. We will have 3 or 4 rides with staggered starts and lunch. Lunch is a Subway box lunch (sandwich, chips, cookie) for $5 and we supply drinks and water. It is just a fun day with other local bike clubs. We do ask that you have your signups for liability as we ask of every club. We also ask to get a final head count so we can order the sandwiches. We also ask that you collect the $5 for each participant and write us one check. Outside of that, it is pretty simple and easy. We ask the cyclists to bring a chair to sit in for lunch.

Please print and post the flyer to make sure everybody knows about this great event in Orange County.

Also - please signup HERE if you intend to have lunch so we know how many sandwiches to bring.

In addition to the road ride options being offered, riders attending the OC Bike Rally on July 18th will have one more ride option: a mountain bike ride going through Peters and Santiago Canyons! This no-drop, regrouping ride is geared for beginners but will feature several en-route options for more advanced riders. This ride departs Deerfield Community Park at 9 AM and will be on dirt for more than 90% of the route. Because of the nature of the ride, route sheets will not be extremely detailed, but a GPS track will be made available a week before the ride. Ride leaders will make sure that no one misses any key turns. The ride will be about 25 miles in length and include about 2,000 feet of climbing. Hydration packs and bikes with front suspension are recommended although cyclo-cross or gravel bikes will work too. For more information and to pre-register for the mountain bike option, contact BCI Ride Coordinator Randy Profeta

Sat Aug 01, 2015 9:00 AM - Tour de Five Cities Remote Ride

One of our most popular remote rides. For those of you who haven't done this ride before, it is a 39 miler with a few small hills that I call 'Tour De 5 Cities', because it winds through Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Capo Beach, and San Clemente. The best part is the breakfaststop at the Dana Point Marina. The ride leaves from Ocean Ranch Shopping Center, next to Trader Joe's at Camino Del Avion and Golden Lantern. There's a shorter yellow ride 33 mile option also if 39 miles is a bit long for you. So mark your calendars for this totally enjoyable ride.

Before /After Eating options: Coffee shop, Z Pizza, Quiznos, Panda Express, and others, all available in the shopping center.

Sun Sep 27, 2015 7 days - Biking Tour of Spokane Washington

What makes Spokane, WA the ideal location for our 2015 cycling, hiking and fun adventure?

Here's what Visit Spokane has to say, "A vibrant city, a roaring river, a gateway to the American west. Since its first days as a rail hub, Spokane has stood as a destination city immersed in natural beauty. Book a whitewater adventure, bike the beautiful Centennial Trail or hike through countless nature preserves. But it's not just about the outdoors! Taste Washington's renowned grapes and hops at any number of local wineries and craft breweries."

As a fellow cyclist, here's what I think will impress you... Spokane's natural beauty and the broad valley where it resides. The many dedicated bicycle and hiking trails adjacent to the hotel. A 2-state bicycle tour which includes beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho as one of our many destinations. Enough after-ride activities to make you do a happy dance. Plus, you can buy this terrific jersey to remember the trip by.

Follow the link below for more information.

We'd love to have you and your friends join us on this outstanding 7 day bicycling adventure funding the good works being done by Big Brothers Big Sisters OC.
