2022 Ridership Challenge Awards

At our January Membership Meeting, the certificates were presented to the highest 3 challengers for 2022.
The 3 highest men & 3 highest women were recognized for their miles ridden, number of rides taken, elevation climbed and hours in the saddle. The data is collected through Strava and expanded through Challenge Hound. Statistician Dick Brock was not able to attend, but the recognition and presentations were handled by President Marc Urias.

Upon membership audit, it has been found that expired members were recognized.
The standings for 3rd place men in distance and elevation have been corrected.

John Condia, BCI# 4957, led all 4 categories, spending the equivalent of over 44 DAYS on the saddle.

Here are the top 3 placings, of men and women, in all 4 categories:

The Annual Ridership Challenge is open to all BCI Members who record rides with Strava. All rides will be counted, not just club rides.
You do not have to have a GPS device; you can record your rides with the Strava App on your smart phone.
You can also sync your rides to Strava from the RideWithGPS app on your mobile device as you ride, or can record the ride manually on the RideWithGPS website & sync it to your Strava account later from home.
The details of the 4 steps to create a Strava account, join the BCI Strava Club, create a Challenge Hound account and join the current BCI Ridership Challenge are all posted on this web site under the MEMBERSHIP header pulldown as STATISTICS ~ RIDERSHIP CHALLENGE at bikeirvine.org/statistics. Everyone who was in the 2022 challenge was rolled over into the 2023 challenge. When you set up, your rides back to January 1 CAN be added.
