Park near Island Brewing Company at the train station in Carpinteria, & be ready to ride at 9am; (It is less than 2 1/2 hours from Irvine, or stay the night with others up for the weekend at a local hotel - or camp!

Explore the area from Carpinteria to Summerland, Montecito, Santa Barbara & back, including the clock tower view from the County Courthouse and a visit to the Santa Barbara Mission, and along the beachfront of Santa Barbara. We’ll stop for a snack in Santa Barbara and be back to Carpinteria to enjoy beer and late lunch at the end of the ride. When we were there in 2025 there was BBQ and a live band - otherwise, grab lunchon Linden and bring it in for lunch

Park near Lauries Pie Bar in Long Beach at meet at her location, & be ready to ride at 9am; We will explore the Long Beach shoreline, roll up the LA River bikeway, cross Long Beach and come down the San Gabriel River / Coyote Creek bikeway - ride across Belmont Shore & then up the beach path back into Downtown Long Beach for some Pie (and lunch.. if you want a beer and more substantial lunch / pizza there are The 4th Horseman, Milana’s NY Pizza and Anna’s Joint Pub all near Laurie’s Pie Bar).

Dana Point to Oceanside (12/14/25)
Lets do it again! Ride along the beach through Doheny, Capistrano Beach, San Clemente, San Onofre, Camp Pendleton to Oceanside Harbor !
We start in Dana Point Harbor, ride down the coast as far as you want, then RIDE back (or go all the way & take the train from Oceanside part way back) !
The Short route turns back at the County Line,
Medium goes all the way & trains back to North San Clemente.
Long turns back at Las Pulgas (or sooner for less miles).
The Long Plus goes all the way down & back “EFI”.
The ride starts at the west end of Dana Point Harbor Drive in Dana Point. Park in either of the lots at the end across from each other, the one closest to the pier, or the other directly across the street.

OR Train to San Clemente: The first train south from Tustin/Irvine (IEOC 857) gets to North San Clemente at 9:05 - you can train down and wait for the rest of the group to roll by the station on route, 5 miles from Dana Point at about 9:20.

After-ride treat at Dana Point Harbor - We used to stop at the Scoop Deck inside Coffee Importers for a great ice cream… but they have MOVED and are now serving only limited ice cream and close at 3pm. They open at 7, so you can get a bagel & joe before the ride!

IF you have military access or have a Base Bike Pass you MAY take the base bike route through the base between Las Pulgas and Harbor instead of teh freeway shoulder...

Most of us do not hold a current BASE BIKE PASS from the USMC, so we will ride the freeway shoulder between Las Pulgas and Harbor Drive. It’s legal, faster, shorter, safer, but noisier. See Base Pass info here.

For those who missed our “Day-After-Thanksgiving” “Turkey Burner” adventure from Riverside downstream to Anaheim Canyon & train return back up to Riverside, we will do it again!.
DRIVE to Riverside Downtown Station & saddle up at 9:30am
We will check out the Mission inn on the short ride over to
Tio’s Tacos for breakfast.
Then we’ll have time to take a scenic 39 mile ride to Anaheim Canyon by 3:45 to catch the IE 1858 train one-way BACK TO RIVERSIDE. (or ride out-n-back to Riverside with no train on your own schedule)
We will end by 5 back at the MetroLink parking lot.

No Drop route with several about every 5 miles - Ride through Hidden Valley Nature Area on the Santa Ana River Trail while it is green and cool, past Mount Rubidoux, through Carlson Park, lunch at Tio’s Tacos, visit the Mission Inn, before dropping back down Victoria back to the La Sierra station.
