San Diego Weekend Remote

  • Bicycle Club of Irvine P.O. Box 50206 Irvine, CA 92619-0206 (map)

BCI Members are going back to San Diego this weekend:
The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition is hosting their annual Bike the Bay on Sunday with a loop of San Diego Bay, including the opportunity to ride on the Coronado Bridge from Downtown to Coronado.
Plan to carpool & drive down Saturday, have a bit of a ride at 11 am, and have a late lunch before checking in, and then get up early Sunday to do the Bike the Bay. If you don’t want to stay, drive down EARLY Sunday for the ride and meet up with BCI members after the ride before you drive back home.

The ‘Enny’s” are staying with some of the members already signed up at the Crown City Inn on Coronado (but that may require a 2 night minimum). Nearby is El Rancho Motel and a Best Western Plus and La Avenida Inn is close… Book your own room and ask for a late check out Sunday after the ride is finished, or stay until Monday morning.
There is a passenger ferry that handles bicycles that will get you to downtown for the ride start on Sunday morning, and back to Coronado after the ride. $8 each way.
If you stay closer to Down Town, or even in Old Town, you can ride or take the local trolly to the ride start and not have to catch the ferry.

First - REGISTER for the ride. (NO FREE-LOADING RIDE POACHERS !)
If staying on Coronado be sure to request the special ferry across to the ride start at 7am or 7:30 !
Second - Book a room or you may drive down EARLY Sunday morning…
Third - Sign up with BCI so we will know who is in town and how to reach each other!
