| Saturday August 22 -- Tour de Five Cities |
|
Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Start location: Ocean Ranch Shopping Center, Laguna Niguel
Here’s a summertime break from those hot Irvine routes, a nice cool ride with ocean breezes, a very popular remote ride.
It's a 39 miler with a few small hills called “Tour De 5 Cities”, because it winds through Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Capo Beach, and San Clemente. There’s also a 33 and a 25 mile option if 39 miles is a bit long for you.
The best part is the breakfast stop at the Dana Point Marina. The ride leaves from Ocean Ranch Shopping Center, next to Trader Joe’s at Camino Del Avion and Golden Lantern in Laguna Niguel. So mark your calendars for this totally enjoyable ride.
Before and after eating options: Coffee shop, I Luv Bagels, Z Pizza, Quiznos sandwiches, Panda Chinese, all available in the shopping center.

| SOLVANG CAMPOUT AND RIDE Sept 11-13 |
|
Mike Brooks is planning another camping trip and ride to Solvang for the weekend of Sept 11-13 We'll camp at Lake Cachuma on Friday and Saturday and ride on Saturday and Sunday. I have a great ride planned for Saturday leaving the campground around 10 am ( to give those driving up sat am time to get there) and riding through Happy Canyon and into Solvang for lunch. Then back to camp using back roads to minimize the time we have to ride on the highway. On Sunday, after we pack up, we'll drive into Solvang where we have several ride options. We will be tenting it but, for those that want a bit more luxury, there are cabins available.
It should be a nice trip. Those who went last year had a great time. s of now there are 4 campers and 2 day riders coming up. The more the merrier so join us and make it a fun event. This is a great alternative for those who want something different and couldn't get a ticket on the Amtrak.
Please let me know if you want to join us.
