Northern California Costal Ride

Ten BCI members (8 riders and 2 SAGs) just completed a Nothern California coastal bike tour that started in Arcata, north of Eureka, and wound its way through the redwood forest and the high cliffs over the Pacific Ocean.  The bike tour had a stunning ending that included a climb up Mt. Tamilpais (average 10% grade), and the crossing of  San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Bridge.  The riders were treated to a herd of grazing wild elk, a tour of a lighthouse, many fun restaurants and coffee shops that popped up along the way.  For more detailed information, see the next Pacelines newsletter. Happiness Happens

The Summer Solstice Ride, a BCI annual event, was held this year on June 13-14. Lots of fun was had by all.

This is an exciting, fairly flat, club ride to Carlsbad from Irvine that included a picturesque ride along the ocean, a bike tour through many extraordinary beautiful cities such as San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point, and for many participants, a scenic lunch overlooking the harbor in Oceanside.

On Saturday, while sitting around the hotel's beautiful pool,  BCI particiapnts heartily ate a wonderful meal organized by Bill Sellin.  This social event highlights the great variety of rides available to all BCI members.

If you missed this fun and healthy event, be sure that you sign up for the next Summer Solstice Ride next June.

Social Dinner at Stonefire Grill

On May 17th many BCI members met for a social dinner at the Stonefire Grill in Irvine.  It was a wonderful time to get together with our biking buddies and have some great food and conversation. A frolicking, fun time at April's folding party, April 2009

Mary Moyer cooked up a fantastic dinner for the BCI members in attendance at the folding party in Newport Beach this April. Folding parties are held every other month to help prepare the Paceline newsletter for distribution.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Hosts are rewarded with reimbursements for dinner as well as a year free BCI membership.  If you are interested in hosting a folding party, contact editor@bikeirvine.org Check the website or watch for the BCI alerts for the next folding party, and join in on the fun. Sunday Social Event, Sunday, April 19, 2009

A large group of BCI members met at Pomodoro's Italian Restaurant in Irvine to share a fun evening and a fantastic meal together. The birthday people were honored.
