The person who was on this bike was arrested at the police department I work for. This Kestrel was being ridden by someone who clearly had no idea or appreciation for what they were riding. Alert officers recognized the bike for what it is and suspect that it is stolen. Because the bike was not part of the crime he was arrested for, and because the serial numbers did not return as stolen, the bike had to be returned to the person when they were released from custody. We know where the bike is at and would like to return it to its rightful owner (as well as bring a bad guy to justice). Although this bicycle is in L.A. County, it is fairly distinctive and maybe someone from BCI knows who the rightful owner is. Please contact me if you have any information on this bike.
