Dear Bicyclist and Pedestrian Supporters,
SCAG has launched its Bike/Ped Wiki web page, in an effort to increase public participation in transportation planning. This web page will complement the traditional approaches to public review and comment on the 2012 Bicycle/Pedestrian Transportation Plan, by enabling individuals to participate more directly and early on in the process. Input from the wiki web page will be considered by SCAG for incorporation into the 2012 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).

The Wiki includes the following features:
• Location Based Registration - provides zip code information to help identify areas that require additional public outreach
• Comment Capabilities - individuals may leave comments on what they like or dislike, offer suggestions, or contribute to discussions regarding various sub-topics
• Edit Capabilities - participants may contribute to the plan by providing edits to the content of the Wiki
• Subscription Capabilities - subscribers will be updated on any modifications or changes made to the Wiki
• Resources Page - federal, state, and local plans and policies, grant opportunities, and guidelines will be provided here as a central resource hub for local jurisdictions
• Tag Cloud Capabilities - tags and keywords are displayed here to simplify queries
• Video Embedding Capabilities - relevant videos will be displayed on the Wiki
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact either Alan Thompson ( Thompson@scag.ca.gov ) or myself.
Sincerely,
Margaret Lin
